From March 12 to 14, 2025, a three-day educational event dedicated to project management and European Union programmes was held in the impressive setting of Kaštio Fortress in Ston.

The Development Agency Stona RAST prepared a project proposal entitled “Construction of a Children’s Playground in Ston”, in accordance with the Island Development Programme for 2025. The local self-government unit – the Municipality of Ston – was designated as the project holder within the proposal.

The project proposal was positively evaluated and included in the List of Decisions on Project Selection and Financing. The decision on project selection was made by the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds (hereinafter: the Contracting Authority) on March 24, 2025, and the Financing Agreement, under reference number 08-FI-DI-0149/25-19, was signed on April 11, 2025. The signing of the Agreement was attended by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds, Zrinka Raguž.

The Contracting Authority’s funds for the implementation of the Project have been secured in the State Budget of the Republic of Croatia for the year 2025 and in the projections for 2026 and 2027, under section 061, division 05 of the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds, Programme 2904 – Sustainable Development of Adriatic Islands, activity A 570463 – Island Development, account 363 – Aid within the General Budget. The total amount of secured funds is EUR 82,500.00.

The implementation period of the Project started on January 1, 2025, and the deadline for submission of the Final Project Implementation Report is May 31, 2026.
